WHAT
IF? A simple two (2)-word question that can stimulate even the littlest
subconscious neuron in our brain. The question, though rendered wishful and
hopeful in general, could also appertain to memories of the past, situations of
the present and possibilities of the future.
In
Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) parlance, it pertains to the possibility
that could, would and should have been. Regret is but an inevitable part of
human existence but the possibilities are but as limited as your imagination.
Do
not get yourself stuck in the past. Never let experience drag you towards the
dungeon of misery. Do not slave yourself with the past. Instead, use the past to develop your
now.
Dr. Tad James, MS, PhD came up with one of the most interesting discovery in the
field of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). The NLP Coaching and Time Line Therapy® technique allows you to work at your unconscious level and be able to
release the consequences of past events in your life. Negative experiences tend
to put a halt on how you live your present and perceive your future.
Time Line Therapy® basically deals with
the unconscious mind. In short, it is how you unconsciously store and realize
the difference between a memory from the past and a projection of the future. Thus,
behavioral change in an individual takes place at an unconscious level. People
don’t change consciously; they change unconsciously.
Being
able to change and replace inappropriate behaviors brought about by the past
posts as a big challenge – an obstacle even for some. Accepting the past and embracing
it wholeheartedly is the first step in attaining the life that you have always
wanted.
