What it is that motivates us? | Embrace change for your own self and not for others or what the society dictates.

What is it that motivates us?
It should not be about material things or superficial highs in life. It should be about inner strength, inner peace and inner satisfaction that should motivate an individual to further nourish his life.

Life patterns and habits are the key to change.
Life patterns come in different shapes and sizes. Some may be life changing while some are not. As a result, we get used to things, circumstances and individuals that when a certain situation comes along, we just act on impulse. Moreover, because we act out of impulse, we tend not to think and just relieve past experiences regarding the situation. We filter our minds according to how we want the outcome to be. In other words, we alter the situation together with the effects in relation to how we want things to appear. And that should not be the case.

Deviating from our “patterns” and habits could be messy. It takes a lot of will power to actually detach ourselves from what we are used to. Given the numerous experiences we had in the past, it would take time to remove them in our system. Though tough, it is feasible.

We need to alter our patterns.
The cliché that change is the only constant thing in this world holds water as much as we want it to be false. We need to acknowledge, embrace and accept its presence if we want change. For most of us, it means alteration, eradication or addition of a foreign being in your system. Look at it like a process – with a number of steps and of causes and effects. Start small and then continue moving forward.

Quitting smoking, loosing those unwanted weight and forgetting a particular individual from your past could be done. Get them out of your system one day at a time and you will feel different.

Life is easy—it’s just not simple.

We need to change for us.
Change requires a holistic approach before it could be nourished and felt by the system. Embrace change for your own self and not for others or what the society dictates. Change must be for you and your well-being. It shall not be about the way others live their lives but rather how you are to live your everyday and tomorrow.
